Who’s ready for some football? I would like to keep this page going; I
have always enjoyed seeing the pictures of our Packers having fun enjoying
the game, practice, and after the game activities. Send me your pictures and share your
stories. Did your team have a great
game? Did your cheer squad perform a
new routine?
Let me know this
is your Packer Team and this is your Story!
Week Seven
The
Oldsmar Falcons charged into face the TNC Packers on Saturday, typical
Florida Football weather HOT and did I mention it was HOT! We had a good turn out, but I know we can
do better.
Lets fill those stands each week
for each game.
Thank You Mr. Whittaker
I wanted to send out a special
thank you to Mr.
Whittaker
for his colorful commentary during the Pee Wee and Super Midget games, you
have made this season fun for the Fans and the boys on the field. Thanks Again!
Pee Wee
Pee Wees are back in the winners
column with a big win over the Falcons Pee Wee Team. Outstanding play by both the offense and
the defense, these young men are fighting hard and continue to look better
week after week.
The Cheerleaders are in
midseason form and this group of girls couldn’t be cuter! Thanks to all the
Coaches. boys and girls for the hard work and effort that you each put in
during the week it sure shows on Saturday!
Go Pee Wee’s!
Super Midgets
The Super Midgets continue their
winning streak and are now at 7-0, everyone again contributed to the
winning effort. The defense kept the
Falcons caged in the backfield most the game and the offense was unstoppable. Our Super Midget cheerleaders were
outstanding, good recover during halftime – when are they going to fix the
speakers on the North Field right Girls!
Midgets
The Midgets fought their way
back to winning column and looked very strong doing so; this is a proud
team of young men who are used to winning.
I am sure they will close out the season well and let’s see what
happens. Of course the Cheerleaders
looked good and they cheer well too!
Good job girls.
Varsity
Our Varsity WON! Again this is a team of boys that goes
out week after week, fight hard and never give up. Packers Nation all should be proud of
this group of boys. If you can stay
around and one of their games, they could use the faces in the stands and
you won’t be disappointed with their effort. Great Job Coaches and Players. Did I mention that their Cheerleading
Squad is small too, thanks to the Midgets Cheerleaders that stayed and help
cheer on the boys. This group of
girls are loud and looks great, they are very well coached! Great Job to all!
Week Six
TCan you believe we have already played Six
Games! We are at midpoint. The
Football Teams are looking stronger and the Girls are starting to put
together their competition routines.
Hopefully, everyone
is still having fun! There is a
Facebook site called Oh the Glory days when I played in the TBYFL! Check it out many say it was some of
their best childhood memories.
In week six the
Packers took on the Jags which always draw large crowds and it is always
nice to see the parents, family and friends support the football players
and cheerleaders.
Pee Wee
Our Pee Wee started
the day off with a hard fought battle and came out on the losing end. They are a young Pee Wee team and next
year this group of boys will be sure to dominate. The Pee Wee Cheerleaders were on the
sidelines cheering on their team and getting the crowd into the game, Good
Job Girls!
Supers are 6-0
The Super Midgets
went into
Week six undefeated
facing the undefeated Jags, someone had to lose. Again we had another hard fought battle,
but Coach Alex and his team of Coaches had our boys ready to face the
undefeated Jag team. Each boy on this team should be proud of their
accomplishments to date they fought hard and this was one of the most
physical games they have played all year. We had a safety, tried an extra
point kicking the ball – and each week we keep getting closer. The defense made many plays in the backfield
and kept an explosive Jag team in check.
We had trick plays and a great deal of effort by the whole Packers
Team. Congrats to the Coaches and
Boys! The Super Midget Cheerleaders kept the crowd pumped up, they
Girls are looking better week after week, Good Job Girls!
Midgets
Our Midgets also a
young team as always gave the Jags a hard fought battle to the end. This team fights to the end and will
regroup and look forward to taking on the Falcons next week. Coach Ricardo and team will be ready to
get back to the winning column. The
Midget Cheerleaders looks in mid season form, and are sure crowd pleasers –
everyone loves the Candy!
Varsity
This team has not
won a game all year but I can tell you this it is not for the lack of
trying. I am so proud of each and
every one of these young men. Coaches and Boys keep practicing and putting
your heart in each and every play.
The Jags Varsity has been strong year and after year but the Packers
Varsity gave them a fight to the end, despite the scoreboard! The
Varsity Cheerleaders again a small group of girls but you are doing a great
job. Coach you have these girls
looking great and many thanks to the Midget Cheerleaders who stayed and
joined the Varsity Squad last Saturday!

New Athletic Director
As most of you
already know we will be starting this season with a New Athletic Director
Ray McCloud. Ray played for the Packers
as a young man and went on to play football for Adams Jr. High, Leto High
School and also played Division 1 College Football.
Ray is one of the
most enthusiastic and talented coaches in the WHOLE TBYFL He has lead his
teams to the Playoff’s yearly and Coached his team to victory in the 2006
and 2008 Super Bowls.
First Week of Practice!
The first week of
practice for 2009 is complete, nice to see everyone again.
The Pee Wees and
Super Midgets are getting ready to defend their 2008 Super Bowl Runs.
Midgets look good
and strong and full of veteran players.
Varsity is growing
in numbers each day and as always will be sure to field a winning
team.
Remember Parents to
speak to a board member and see how you can help, if everyone does their
share the Packers are sure to succeed.
Three Games are in
the Books
Our Flag Football Team and Cheerleaders have
been practicing and practicing but they want to play a game, and mother
nature has not been cooperating the first two games were cancelled due to
bad weather.
The Makeup game scheduled for last Friday
went off without a hitch and our Flag Team and Cheerleaders finally were
able to display everything they had learned. Keeping up with Packers Tradition this group
of Flag football players and Cheerleaders is a shining example of what we
can expect in the Future.
